Lineage Inc. has expanded its capabilities at the Port of New Orleans facility, allowing it to act as both a customs bonded warehouse and a USDA-approved import house. The 304,000 square foot facility provides major protein producers access to global shipping routes and intermodal rail networks. This is Lineage's first customs bonded facility in the state, and it operates 12 bonded warehouses and 42 I-House facilities across the US.

Lineage Inc., a leading temperature-controlled warehouse real estate investment trust, has expanded its operations at the Port of New Orleans (Port NOLA) by certifying its Jourdan Road facility as a Class 3 Public Bonded Warehouse and a USDA-approved import house. This strategic move positions Lineage as a key player in the Gulf region's global trade landscape.

The Jourdan Road facility, located on the Inner Harbor Navigation Canal in New Orleans East, offers a 304,000-square-foot space that provides major protein producers with access to global shipping routes and intermodal rail networks. This expansion marks Lineage's first customs bonded facility in Louisiana, adding to its existing portfolio of 12 bonded warehouses and 42 USDA-approved I-House facilities across the United States [3].

The facility's dual designation as both a customs bonded warehouse and a USDA-approved import house allows for on-site USDA inspections of imported food and customs bonded storage. This enables goods to be securely stored under U.S. Customs supervision until duties and tariffs are paid, streamlining the import process and reducing delays [3].

Port NOLA's deepwater access and six Class I rail connections further enhance the facility's strategic importance. The port has seen a 2% year-over-year increase in container volumes in the first half of 2025, attributed to rising container imports and improved schedule reliability [1].

"In today’s ever-evolving international trade landscape, having the right infrastructure with secure, customs-regulated storage is of growing importance to our customers," said Brian Beattie, President, Western US Operations at Lineage [3].

"By combining these expanded services, we are helping to strengthen Louisiana’s position in the global supply chain and ensuring that families across America have dependable access to temperature-sensitive products," said Beth Branch, Port NOLA President and CEO and New Orleans Public Belt (NOPB) CEO [3].

This partnership between Lineage and Port NOLA underscores the importance of aligning world-class multimodal connectivity with industry-leading cold storage expertise. Together, they are reinforcing New Orleans' role as a critical trade gateway linking international markets to America's consumers.
