LG&E and KU, subsidiaries of PPL Corporation, have received approval from the Kentucky Public Service Commission to add new generation to meet the state's growing energy needs. The utilities will construct two new, highly efficient natural gas combined-cycle units and upgrade environmental technologies at Ghent Generating Station. The projects will support the companies' ability to serve customers safely and reliably, while keeping pace with Kentucky's record-breaking economic development needs.
