League of Kingdoms, a long-running blockchain massively multiplayer online real-time strategy game, is expanding its reach by launching a multi-game ecosystem called Arena-Z. This new ecosystem will introduce two additional games: League of Kingdoms Chronicle, a dungeon-crawling role-playing game (RPG) that supports the original game’s NFT heroes, and League of Kingdoms Hunters, an idle RPG that allows players to boost their progression continuously. Both games are currently in beta testing and are expected to launch by the end of the quarter.
The Arena-Z ecosystem is designed to offer unified progression across all titles, with all three games running on the same OP Superchain network, Arena-Z Chain. This network is powered by
layer-2 Optimism technology, enabling seamless on-chain progression between the games. The blockchain features are optional but enhance the player experience by allowing data streams and item ownership to flow across games.Han Yoo, COO of 3MERGED, emphasized that the expansion is not just a rebranding effort but a strategic evolution into a connected gaming universe. League of Kingdoms has already achieved mainstream success with 5 million players and remarkable longevity, maintaining its community for over 5 years. The vision for Arena-Z is to create an ecosystem where achievements, assets, and rewards flow seamlessly across multiple titles, embodying the concept of 'Your Play Never Stops.'
As part of this transition, a new token called A2Z will replace the current LOKA token. Holders of LOKA tokens can swap them for A2Z at a 1:20 ratio beginning July 28. The A2Z token is designed to fuel cross-game rewards and support a larger ecosystem, including externally developed games. Exchanges like Binance and Gate will support the new token.
Arena-Z will also introduce a non-governance HT token specifically for League of Kingdoms Hunters. This token will be issued for each in-game season, typically lasting about four weeks, and will be used to enhance onboarding and engagement for the new game. The Arena-Z community governance will determine HT allocations.
To attract external developers, Arena-Z has launched a $20 million ecosystem fund. This fund aims to bring in quality games, apps, and infrastructure that will benefit players and enhance the overall ecosystem. The goal is to support builders who can prove that Web3 technology can enhance, rather than complicate, the player experience. With its Asian roots, Arena-Z has unique access to studios ready to bridge Web2 excellence with Web3 innovation.
This expansion into Arena-Z marks a significant step for League of Kingdoms, transitioning from a single game to a comprehensive gaming ecosystem. The introduction of new games, tokens, and a development fund underscores the company's commitment to creating a connected gaming universe where players can enjoy seamless progression and enhanced experiences.
