The forum featured two high-level panels. The first panel, titled “Smart Rules: Building Trust Through Embedded Compliance,” was moderated by Maleesha Gunawardana, Compliance Lead at LBank. The second panel, “Global Playbooks: Navigating Compliance Across Jurisdictions,” was moderated by Harshil Agarwal, Senior Advisor at TLP Advisor. Speakers included Rajesh Mohan, Digital Assets, Treasury & Traded Risk Management expert at Deloitte Middle East; Will Liao, Head of Fintech Innovation at PolyFlow; Sarah, Head of Payment Partnerships at Wello; and Mandy Ma, Senior Counsel at ALJAMHOR LAW. This panel examined real-time compliance in global payment networks, particularly with the FATF’s Travel Rule and sanction screening mandates. Panelists discussed how blockchain and AI are transforming AML/KYC workflows and the industry's adoption of compliance technology. Legal experts shared insights into navigating the regulatory landscape in the GCC region, particularly in emerging markets. The panel concluded with a discussion on the balance between regulatory harmonization and arbitrage, highlighting how evolving global frameworks may collide with fragmented national regimes.
