Langara Instructor Fired Over Hamas Comments Reinstated After Arbitrator's Ruling

A B.C. college instructor fired for comments praising Hamas-led attacks in Israel has been reinstated by an arbitrator. The arbitrator ruled that Natalie Knight, an English instructor at Vancouver's Langara College, should be reinstated and made whole for lost compensation since January 2024. Knight's remarks at a pro-Palestine rally drew widespread condemnation and led to her initial dismissal. The reinstatement was the result of a grievance brought under the Labour Relations Code by the Langara Faculty Association.
