L3Harris Technologies has received a $400 million contract to produce solid rocket boost motors and Liquid Divert and Attitude Control Systems for the Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) system. THAAD is a critical part of the US missile defense system, with a 100% success rate in intercept tests. L3Harris will manufacture the components in Huntsville, Alabama, Camden, Arkansas, and Los Angeles, with delivery expected in the coming years.
