Kyivstar, Google collaborate on Ukrainian LLM project, leveraging Vertex AI infrastructure.

Kyivstar, a Ukrainian telecom operator, and the WINWIN AI Center of Excellence have selected Google Gemma as the base model for developing Ukraine's national large language model (LLM). Kyivstar will lead the development of the model, which aims to capture Ukrainian dialects, terminology, and context while keeping sensitive national data secure within Ukraine. The project reinforces ties between Ukraine and the US and leverages Google's Vertex AI infrastructure for computing power.
