Kripton Partners with TRON DAO to Boost Digital Payments in Argentina
1min read Kripton, a prominent e-commerce platform in Argentina, has announced a significant strategic partnership with tron DAO, a community-governed decentralized autonomous organization focused on advancing the decentralization of the internet through blockchain technology and decentralized applications (dApps). This alliance aims to transform digital payments and enhance financial inclusion within the Argentine market.
Under this collaboration, over 2,000 merchants associated with Kripton will adopt USDT (Tether USD) as their primary digital currency. This move will facilitate secure, efficient, and subsidized payments on the TRON network. TRON will cover all transaction fees between Kripton and its users, thereby reducing costs and improving efficiency for both consumers and merchants.
In addition to the adoption of USDT, the strategic alliance will introduce interest-free microloans for central market workers. These microloans will support the purchase of carts and work apparel, fostering economic growth and financial inclusion. The microloan initiative is expected to generate approximately 110,000 transactions and $2 million in volume over an 18-month period. The funding for these microloans will come from transactions conducted by market workers using their USDT balances on the TRON network at businesses integrated with Kripton.
Juan Pablo Moreno, CEO of Kripton, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, stating, “We are excited to have TRON join this initiative we’ve been working on. Given that TRON is the network with the highest number of USDT transactions and has been actively working with the community for the longest time, we are confident that this integration will benefit our users and contribute to the growth of the crypto ecosystem in Argentina.”
This alliance builds on the ongoing collaborative efforts between Kripton, TRON, Tether, and various civil organizations that promote the use of Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies in Argentina. Sam Elfarra, Community Spokesperson at the TRON DAO, emphasized TRON's commitment to advancing blockchain and cryptocurrency adoption in the region, noting that this collaboration with Kripton and Tether is a crucial step toward mass adoption of blockchain technologies in Argentina and beyond.
TRON DAO, founded in September 2017 by H.E. Justin Sun, has seen substantial growth since the launch of its MainNet in May 2018. The TRON blockchain has recorded over 299 million user accounts, more than 10 billion transactions, and over $18 billion in total value locked (TVL).
