The Kentucky Public Service Commission (KPSC) has approved Louisville Gas and Electric Company and Kentucky Utilities Company's requests to add new generation. The companies, subsidiaries of PPL Corporation, will construct two new 645-megawatt natural gas combined-cycle units and upgrade environmental technologies for Unit 2 at Ghent Generating Station. The new generation will support the companies' ability to serve customers safely and reliably, while keeping pace with Kentucky's economic development needs.
