The new sites are part of a series of strategic district partnerships aimed at addressing the critical gap in out-of-school time care for families. According to a recent KinderCare survey of over 2,000 parents, the search for child care is a major stressor. This expansion will enable more than 10,000 additional children to gain access to care.
Dan Figurski, President of Champions and KinderCare for Employers, stated, "Reaching this milestone is a direct reflection of the passion, dedication, and expertise of our entire Champions team. We’re not just growing in numbers, we’re growing our impact. Families across the country face real challenges when it comes to out-of-school time care, and this expansion allows us to meet those needs in more communities than ever before."
The expansion is the result of collaborative efforts between Champions and many local school districts. One notable example is the partnership with the Martinez Unified School District (MUSD) in California, which will support over 350 children from transitional kindergarten through 6th grade. This program is funded by MUSD to assist working families and will continue into summer 2026.
Yadira Zapata, from the Martinez Unified School District, praised the onboarding process, stating, "Champions has made our onboarding a truly wonderful experience. From clear communication, flexibility, high responsiveness, and a collaborative approach, we know MUSD is in for a great year!"
With programs now serving children and families in 37 states, Champions continues its mission to provide engaging, academically rich, and socially supportive environments during critical out-of-school hours.
