Thirteen Kansas- and Colorado-based farmers, Weskan Grain and Colorado Pacific Railroad, filed an antitrust lawsuit against Kansas & Oklahoma Railroad and Union Pacific Railroad, alleging that the defendants engaged in conduct to stifle competition and preserve control over grain shipments. The lawsuit claims that the defendants imposed exorbitant fees and created barriers to transportation, making it difficult for farmers to earn a fair price for their crops. The plaintiffs seek to restore balance, transparency, and accountability to the rail system.
