Kaluza Doubles Customer Base with Engie Deal, Expanding Energy Tech Reach

UK energy tech firm Kaluza has reached a deal with French utility Engie, more than doubling its customer base to 20 million. The company provides software services for energy trading, demand forecasting, and customer billing. Kaluza's success highlights the growing demand for energy software in the global transition to renewable energy.

TotalEnergies and RWE have been selected by the French Ministry of Industry and Energy to develop and operate the Centre Manche 2 (AO8) offshore wind farm. This 1.5 gigawatt (GW) project, located more than 40 kilometers from the Normandy coast, represents a significant investment of about €4.5 billion, according to TotalEnergies TotalEnergies chosen to operate France’s largest renewable energy project[1]. The wind farm is expected to generate approximately 6 terawatt-hours (TWh) annually, supplying electricity to over 1 million households.

The project's construction is slated to begin in 2033, with a final investment decision planned for early 2029. Patrick Pouyanné, Chairman and CEO of TotalEnergies, expressed pride in winning the tender, stating, "We are very proud to have won this tender for the construction of the largest renewable energy park in France to date" TotalEnergies chosen to operate France’s largest renewable energy project[1]. TotalEnergies has pledged €45 million for environmental mitigation measures, €15 million for a biodiversity fund in Normandy, and €10 million for a territorial fund supporting training, education, and culture.

RWE has indicated its intention to exit the consortium, pending approval by French authorities. TotalEnergies confirmed it will continue the project regardless and may propose a new partner. The project is expected to create up to 2,500 jobs, with 500,000 hours of work dedicated to apprentices and people in professional reintegration TotalEnergies chosen to operate France’s largest renewable energy project[1].
