Kaito AI Founder's Accounts Hacked Despite 2FA
On March 16, the founder of Kaito AI, Yu Hu, posted on the X platform, revealing that both his X account and Kaito account had been compromised. The hacker posted fake tweets, which prompted Yu Hu to check both accounts and discover that he was still logged in. He immediately deleted the fake tweets and changed the passwords for both accounts.
Yu Hu emphasized that nothing related to Kaito AI had been compromised. He noted that both accounts had advanced security measures, including hardware two-factor authentication (2FA). Despite these measures, the accounts were still breached, suggesting a sophisticated attack similar to those recently seen in other projects, such as JupiterJUNS--.
In his post, Yu Hu mentioned that the incident may be part of a Jupiter-like attack, a type of cyber intrusionINTZ-- that targets high-profile individuals and organizations. He is currently in communication with experts familiar with such attacks to understand the breach's specifics and prevent future incidents.
