Kaia Integrates Blockchain into LINE and Kakao: 250M Users Get Seamless Web3 Access

Kaia Summit 2025 Showcases Blockchain Innovations in Singapore
The KaiaKAIA-- Summit 2025, hosted by the Kaia Foundation and co-hosted by LINE NEXT, SuperEarn, and AlphaSec, commenced at the Suntec Convention & Exhibition Center in Singapore, coinciding with Token2049 Singapore, Asia's largest Web3 gathering. The event, drawing over 25,000 attendees, focused on advancing stablecoin adoption, decentralized finance (DeFi), real-world assets (RWA), and cross-border payment solutions. The summit highlighted Kaia's role as Asia's largest Web3 ecosystem, formed through the 2024 merger of Kakao-backed Klaytn and LINE-developed Finschia, which combined over 420 decentralized applications (DApps) and 250 million potential users across Asia .
The merged Kaia blockchain leverages the user bases of KakaoTalk and LINE, two of Asia's most popular messaging platforms, to integrate Web3 functionalities into everyday digital interactions. By embedding blockchain features directly into these apps, Kaia aims to simplify user onboarding, enabling seamless token transfers, dApp usage, and NFT interactions without requiring separate wallets or platforms . The summit underscored this strategy, emphasizing how Kaia's infrastructure supports low-latency transactions and immediate finality, critical for mainstream adoption .
A key development discussed was the native deployment of Tether's USD₮ stablecoin on Kaia's blockchain, facilitated by a partnership with LINE NEXT. This integration allows LINE's 196 million monthly active users to utilize USD₮ for in-app payments, cross-border transfers, and DeFi activities within the LINE Messenger ecosystem. Users can now earn USD₮ rewards by completing missions in Mini Dapps, a feature designed to bridge traditional and decentralized finance . Tether's CEO, Paolo Ardoino, highlighted the initiative as a step toward making stablecoins accessible to millions of mainstream users, aligning with Kaia's goal of fostering financial inclusion .
The summit's agenda featured 20+ industry leaders, including representatives from DeFi protocols, infrastructure providers, and enterprise partners. Sessions explored topics such as tokenized assets, hybrid payment solutions, and regulatory frameworks for stablecoins. Kaia's Chairman, Dr. Sam Seo, emphasized the collaboration with LINE NEXT to accelerate USD-backed stablecoin adoption in Asia, leveraging the region's high mobile penetration and economic volatility . Additionally, the event showcased 50+ dApps and wallets, including NEOPIN's transition from FNSA staking to KAIA-based services, reflecting the ecosystem's ongoing integration .
Kaia's strategic focus on stablecoins and cross-chain interoperability was further reinforced by its recent codebase upgrades, such as v2.0.3, which introduced gas abstraction and EthereumETH-- compatibility. These enhancements reduce friction for new users and align with global DeFi trends, attracting developers and institutional interest . The summit also announced a $170,000 hackathon, co-hosted with TetherUSDT-- and LINE NEXT, to incentivize developers to build USDT-powered dApps on Kaia's platform .
The event concluded with optimism about Kaia's potential to drive Web3 mass adoption. By merging Klaytn's strengths in Korea, Singapore, and Vietnam with Finschia's presence in Japan, Taiwan, and the UAE, the ecosystem aims to create a unified infrastructure for scalable, user-friendly blockchain solutions. With regulatory clarity on stablecoins expected in key markets and growing institutional participation, Kaia's role as a gateway for Asia's digital economy appears increasingly solidified .
