The Jawaharlal Nehru Teachers' Association (JNUTA) protested against the dismissal of an assistant professor on probation. The administration claimed the professor took unauthorized leave, but the teachers' association said he took leave due to a family emergency. JNUTA condemned the dismissal and wrote to the Vice-Chancellor and President, terming the move illegal. The professor was appointed in April 2024 and was sacked by an order on August 27.
