Jharkhand BJP president Babulal Marandi alleges a conspiracy against him by the state government, led by Chief Minister Hemant Soren. Marandi claims that people close to Soren have taken a contract to harm him and his family, and that he will continue to expose corruption in the government. The JMM spokesperson denies the allegations, calling them "baseless" and "deliberate attempts to mislead the public."

Jharkhand BJP president Babulal Marandi has alleged a conspiracy against him orchestrated by the state government, led by Chief Minister Hemant Soren. In a press conference held in Giridih, Marandi claimed that top officials close to Soren have taken a contract to harm him and his family. He further asserted that the motive behind the alleged conspiracy is to silence his voice against corruption in the state [1].

Marandi cited several instances of alleged irregularities in governance, including liquor and mining scams, recruitment corruption in JSSC-JPSC, and the mismanagement of rural development schemes. He stated that these issues have prompted the government to act out of personal vendetta. He drew parallels to a 2013 incident during Soren’s earlier tenure, alleging that extremist elements in Shikaripara were tasked with targeting him. Marandi claimed that intelligence reports revealed the threat, and the Union Government responded by assigning CRPF protection for his security. He warned that any harm to him, his family, or associates should be considered a consequence of the alleged conspiracy, holding the state government fully accountable [1].

The ruling Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) and its ally, the Congress, have dismissed Marandi’s allegations as politically motivated theatrics. JMM General Secretary and spokesperson Vinod Kumar Pandey called Marandi’s claims a “desperate stunt for cheap popularity” and urged him to “uphold the dignity” of the office he once held [1]. The Congress responded in even more scathing terms, with General Secretary and Media In-charge Rakesh Sinha accusing Marandi of having a “conspiratorial past” and alleging instances of communal tension and political instability during Marandi’s tenure as CM in the early 2000s [1].

Marandi’s allegations have drawn sharp rebuttals from the ruling JMM and the Congress, who have dismissed the charges as politically motivated theatrics. The BJP leaders present at the press conference expressed solidarity with Marandi, and party sources indicated that the matter may be raised with the BJP’s central leadership in New Delhi.
