Jensen Huang: AI Is Beginning A New Industrial Revolution, And NVIDIA Is Building An 'AI Brain'

NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang recently stated that people are witnessing the dawn of a new industrial revolution, only this revolution is powered not by steam or electricity, but by artificial intelligence (AI).

Huang addressed thousands of corporate technology leaders at the Gartner IT Symposium in Orlando, Florida, telling them their companies must transform into AI-driven organizations to prepare for this "new industrial revolution."

He also said that NVIDIA has put this philosophy into practice, applying AI to areas such as chip design, software writing, and supply chain management. Huang stated that, in the long term, NVIDIA is building an "AI brain."

The Gartner IT Symposium in Orlando, held from October 21st to 24th, is one of the most authoritative software and service outsourcing exhibitions in the United States. It explores technologies, insights, and trends that shape the future of IT and business, discussing key topics including data and analytics, artificial intelligence, machine learning, culture, customer experience, cybersecurity, and more.

At the conference, Huang said that the shift from traditional software coding to artificial neural networks "completely changes the entire system." This shift is not just about more powerful computing; it's about redefining the nature of work.

He stated, "AI learns not tools, but work." Unlike software tools designed for humans, AI can acquire skills, reason through complex problems, and even collaborate with other AI systems to perform tasks autonomously.

In Huang's view, this marks a significant transformation for businesses. "We have this new industry on top of us that never existed before, This is the beginning of a new industrial revolution," he said.

The Power of AI

In the early days, the concept of software as a product - abstract yet valuable - was established. Huang believes that AI will follow a similar trajectory; this time, it's not about software but the tokens (the smallest semantic units of text) being produced, which are the building blocks of AI.

These AI-generated tokens represent a new form of output. He explained, We are creating a digital version of a whole bunch of very valuable things, which we call intelligence. Tokens can be reassembled into language, video, or images.

He believes that soon the world might even see tokenized robot vocalizations, where robots can perform tasks in natural language and act in specific ways.

How will NVIDIA "Implant" AI?

Huang also stated that the AI revolution is "profound", but many business leaders still wonder where it can be reflected.

According to him, NVIDIA is developing what Huang calls an "AI brain," which is the foundational technology that powers artificial intelligence. But as a company itself, it has also embedded AI in its operations - something he says every company should do now. It is reported that AI has been used to optimize key processes at NVIDIA, such as chip design and supply chain management.

Huang also stated that the next big trend is agent AI, which is a model that can make decisions with little human intervention. NVIDIA has been working with companies like SAP and ServiceNow to incorporate such agents into their systems.
