Japan's Financial Services Agency has updated its Q&A to state that launching domestic CFDs tied to overseas cryptocurrency ETFs is "not ideal". The agency cited the lack of approval for cryptocurrency ETFs in Japan and inadequate investor protection as reasons. IG Securities has suspended CFD trading for US spot Bitcoin ETFs due to regulatory signals indicating that Japan is unlikely to open up to overseas ETF-linked cryptocurrency derivatives in the short term.
