Jan-Willem Scheijgrond, Vice President of Philips, answered question 21: Other countries in the world benefit from China's innovation and cooperation
21st Century Business reporter Shuhui Tian Beijing reported
"Digitalization and artificial intelligence are developing at an amazing speed, and many innovations are happening in China. The attractiveness of the Chinese market is that the rest of the world can benefit from China's innovation and cooperation," Jan-Willem Scheijgrond, vice president of Philips and head of global government and public affairs, told 21st Century Business reporter.
The second Chain Expo, with the theme of "Linking the World and Co-creating the Future", was held in Beijing from November 26 to 30. Jan-Willem Scheijgrond told 21st Century Business reporter at the Chain Expo site: "China is Philips' second-largest market. We hope to improve people's health and well-being through meaningful innovation. We have done many innovations to meet the medical needs of hospitals and ordinary people around the world."
He gave an example that Philips' magnetic resonance imaging equipment is designed to help people get faster and cheaper diagnoses of cardiovascular disease, cancer and other diseases. "We hope the future hospital will be more digitalized, and it will be easier for every family to get medical care. I think one way to achieve this is to put medical equipment like magnetic resonance imaging equipment into trucks and drive them into people's communities," he said.
Jan-Willem Scheijgrond said, "We are cooperating with Chinese doctors and universities to find suitable people for magnetic resonance imaging scans, and then digitize all the images for analysis. I think this is the future of health technology. It is happening."
