Israeli military issues new evacuation warning for residents of two areas in Tehran - post on X
Israeli military has issued a new evacuation warning for residents of two areas in Tehran, urging them to stay away from weapons production centers and military bases. The warning was posted on X in both Farsi and Arabic, highlighting the escalating conflict between Israel and Iran. The warning comes as part of Israel's ongoing air campaign against Iran, which has seen hundreds of thousands of residents in central Tehran ordered to evacuate. The strikes, which Israel says target Iran’s nuclear and military infrastructure, have led to significant destruction and casualties. At least 224 people have been reported killed in Iran, while 24 people have been killed and over 500 injured in Israel.
The escalating conflict has also seen Iran launch over 370 missiles and hundreds of drones at Israeli targets. In response to these attacks, the United States has urged immediate evacuation of the Iranian capital, with former President Donald Trump posting an ominous message on his social media platform.
The Israeli military spokesperson, Brig. Gen. Effie Defrin, described the campaign as "a deep and comprehensive blow to the Iranian threat," claiming that Israel had achieved "full aerial superiority over Tehran’s skies." The military has reported the destruction of more than 120 missile launchers, two F-14 fighter jets, and multiple launch platforms used for ballistic missile attacks on Israel.
The conflict has led to widespread disruption, with fuel rationing in effect and airspace closures across the region leaving tens of thousands stranded. Rights groups have claimed that Iran is underreporting casualties, with one US-based advocacy group saying over 400 people have died, including nearly 200 civilians.
The conflict has significant implications for the global economy, with oil prices expected to rise due to disruptions in supply. The situation is also causing concern for investors, who are closely watching the developments and their potential impact on regional stability and global markets.
