Israeli data security firm Cyera raises $540 million, valued at $6 billion
Israeli data security startup Cyera has secured $540 million in a late-stage private funding round, bringing its valuation to $6 billion. The round was led by Georgian, Greenoaks, and Lightspeed Venture Partners, alongside existing investors Accel, Coatue, Cyberstarts, Redpoint, Sapphire, Sequoia Capital, and Spark [1].Cyera's AI-powered platform is designed to help organizations discover, classify, and protect sensitive data, making it a critical layer in enabling secure, enterprise-grade AI deployment. The company plans to use the funds to grow and scale its data security platform and capabilities to meet the growing global demand for secure, responsible AI adoption in today's AI-driven enterprise [2].
Founded in 2021 by Yotam Segev (CEO) and Tamar Bar-Ilan (CTO), both graduates of the elite Talpiot program and veterans of Unit 8200, Cyera has seen significant growth. Since early 2023, the company has reported 353% growth in its Fortune 500 customer base, acquired Trail Security, and launched a solution to prevent data leaks in the age of AI. Cyera now employs nearly 800 people, three times more than a year ago, and has recruited senior executives from AWS, Palo Alto Networks, Zscaler, and Snowflake [3].
"The $6 billion valuation excites us, but it doesn’t scare me," said Segev. "We’re just getting started. We’re close to reaching $100 million in annual revenue, and we have a plan to triple that next year" [4].
This funding round brings Cyera’s total funding to over $1.3 billion, reflecting the increasing demand for secure data management as enterprises adopt AI systems. "Investors are doubling down where the market is moving and where there is proven traction," said Segev. "AI runs on GPUs and data. Cyera’s focus on data security is the most critical capability the enterprise needs to adopt AI responsibly" [5].
