Irish Pharmacy Union Endorses Free HRT Scheme Starting June 1st

The Irish Pharmacy Union has endorsed a revised scheme to provide free hormone replacement therapy (HRT) from pharmacies in June, after the Department of Health increased grant funding for participating pharmacists. HRT is prescribed to treat menopause symptoms in women, and will be available in various forms, including tablets, skin patches, gels, and vaginal creams. The scheme was initially pledged for free availability from January 2025, but negotiations with the pharmacy union delayed its implementation.
