Iran, U.S. Nuclear Talks Enter Reasonable Track

Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian stated that the fifth round of nuclear talks between Iran and the U.S. was the most professional round of negotiations to date. He emphasized that Iran's position is clear and that the U.S. now has a better understanding of Iran's stance.

Amir-Abdollahian also mentioned that the Omani Foreign Minister presented ideas for a solution that could overcome obstacles. This round of talks reviewed the outline and core issues of this proposal. Currently, both the U.S. and Iran agree that while their respective national leaderships conduct further reviews, the Omani Foreign Minister will continue to study the details of the proposed ideas and provide them for further review by both parties. Amir-Abdollahian stated that the time and location of the next round of talks will be determined and announced separately.

He noted that the negotiation process is complex and that a final conclusion cannot be reached in just two or three meetings. However, he acknowledged that the talks have entered a reasonable track, which is itself a significant progress. Amir-Abdollahian expressed hope that in the next one or two meetings, a solution could be reached to advance the negotiations and pave the way for a final agreement.

Despite not yet being in the final agreement stage, Amir-Abdollahian described the atmosphere of today's talks as positive. He believes that as Oman takes measures to remove obstacles, the likelihood of making progress will increase.
