The DeLamar Project, located in Owyhee County in southwest Idaho, is an open-pit mining and heap leaching operation that aims to produce gold and silver. Integra, which is focused on demonstrating profitability and operational excellence at its principal operating asset, the Florida Canyon Mine in Nevada, is seeking to revitalize the DeLamar Project. The company has invested approximately US$140 million into advancing resource growth, engineering, and mine design since acquiring the project in 2017 [1].
The Relationship Agreement provides a framework for collaboration and co-management between Integra and the Shoshone-Paiute Tribes. Key aspects of the agreement include Indigenous recognition, economic empowerment and participation, cultural and environmental protection, consensus-based regulatory collaboration, and community investment and performance monitoring. The agreement is designed to guide the partnership throughout the entire life of the mine, fostering a mutually beneficial long-term relationship [1].
The DeLamar Project is located within the traditional territories of the Shoshone-Paiute Tribes, whose aboriginal lands cover much of the tri-state area of Idaho, Nevada, and Oregon. The Tribes have been expanding economic opportunities and building community development for generations. The agreement asserts the Tribes' right to a seat at the table in directing how things happen in their territory, supporting responsible economic development in the region [1].
Integra is committed to creating sustainable value for shareholders, stakeholders, and local communities through successful mining operations, efficient project development, disciplined capital allocation, and strategic M&A, while upholding the highest industry standards for environmental, social, and governance practices [1].
The partnership between Integra and the Shoshone-Paiute Tribes is expected to foster high-wage job opportunities in rural Idaho communities and contribute to the state's economic development. The agreement is a significant step towards responsible natural resource production and the creation of a more secure and efficient domestic mineral supply chain [1].
