Integra Resources Corp. (TSXV: ITR; NYSE American: ITRG) has announced a groundbreaking Relationship Agreement with the Shoshone-Paiute Tribes to develop the DeLamar gold and silver mining project on Tribal homelands. This agreement, the first of its kind in the Lower 48 States, establishes a long-term partnership that recognizes Tribal sovereignty and aims to advance sustainable economic development for the Tribes.
The agreement, signed on August 15, 2025, outlines a framework for collaboration and co-management of various aspects related to the DeLamar Project, including Indigenous recognition, economic empowerment, cultural and environmental protection, consensus-based regulatory collaboration, and community investment. The partnership will guide the project's development over its entire life cycle.
Brian Mason, Chairman of the Shoshone-Paiute Tribes, commented on the significance of the agreement, stating, "The Shoshone-Paiute Business Council is very pleased to enter into this Relationship Agreement for the DeLamar Project. The agreement is the first-of-its-kind in the Lower 48 States and marks a significant milestone for economic development in the region."
George Salamis, President, CEO, and Director of Integra, expressed pride in the partnership, noting, "Integra is incredibly proud to enter into this partnership with the Shoshone-Paiute Tribes. This agreement establishes a durable and long-term platform for local and regional economic opportunities to thrive."
The DeLamar Project is located in Owyhee County, southwest Idaho, and was previously operated by Kinross Gold Corporation until 1998. Integra has invested approximately US$140 million into advancing the project since acquiring it in 2017. The project is expected to create high-wage job opportunities in the rural Idaho communities.
The agreement comes as the project moves closer to regulatory approval, with Integra submitting the Mine Plan of Operations to the United States Bureau of Land Management in March 2025. The submission initiates the pathway for the issuance of a Notice of Intent, which is a formal announcement of the BLM's intent to prepare an Environmental Impact Statement.
The partnership between Integra and the Shoshone-Paiute Tribes is a significant step forward in the responsible advancement of natural resource development in Idaho and the creation of high-paying jobs. The agreement also supports the development of a more secure and efficient domestic mineral supply chain.
