Institutions Drive Solana Treasuries Past $4B, Back $1,000 Price Target

Strategic Solana Reserve data indicates that at least 17 companies now hold 17.11 million SOL tokens, representing nearly 3% of the token’s total supply. While Kaleo’s $1,000 target is framed as a long-term possibility, others like Ali Martinez project a more modest $360 target in the medium term. The disparity in forecasts reflects varying interpretations of Solana’s chart patterns and macroeconomic conditions. However, the consensus is that institutional adoption and treasury growth are pivotal drivers, with forward-looking metrics such as ETF inflows and strategic reserve expansions providing strong tailwinds.

The trajectory of Solana’s price is closely tied to its adoption in corporate portfolios. As of September 2025, Solana’s treasury holdings exceed those of Bitcoin and Ether in terms of growth rate, though they remain smaller in absolute value. Bitcoin-based treasuries, for instance, hold $428 billion in BTC, while Ether-based reserves amount to $22 billion in ETH.
