Infosys and Telstra Joint Venture Boosts AI and Cloud Capabilities in Australia

Infosys has acquired a 75% stake in Australian digital transformation solutions provider Versent Group, while Telstra retains 25%. The joint venture will enhance AI-enabled cloud and digital transformation solutions for Australian businesses, leveraging Infosys' platforms like Topaz and Cobalt. The transaction is expected to close in the second half of FY 2026, subject to regulatory approvals. The partnership builds on existing collaborations between Infosys and Telstra, including a 2024 software engineering initiative and the 2025 Connected Future 30 strategy.

Infosys, a global leader in next-generation digital services and consulting, has acquired a 75% stake in Versent Group, a digital transformation solutions provider based in Australia. This acquisition is part of a strategic joint venture with Telstra, Australia’s leading telecommunications and technology company. The joint venture aims to enhance AI-enabled cloud and digital transformation solutions for Australian businesses, leveraging Infosys' advanced platforms such as Topaz and Cobalt [1].

The transaction, valued at Australian dollar 233.25 million (approximately ₹1,300 crore), will see Infosys acquire operational control over Versent Group, while Telstra retains a 25% minority stake. The joint venture is expected to close in the second half of FY 2026, subject to regulatory approvals [1].

This strategic collaboration builds upon existing partnerships between Infosys and Telstra. In 2024, Infosys and Telstra announced a multi-year collaboration to accelerate software engineering and IT transformation. In 2025, they expanded their collaboration to advance technology leadership and support Telstra’s new Connected Future 30 strategy [1].
