Indonesia Leads World in Generosity for Fourth Year Running, Says Charities Aid Foundation

Indonesia remains the world's most generous nation, according to the Charities Aid Foundation's World Giving Index. The country has a volunteer rate of 65% and 90% of Indonesians made charitable donations in 2023. Kenya, Singapore, and Gambia follow in the ranking, with Indonesia's generosity driven by Islamic charity and the influence of Theravada Buddhism. Anglo-Saxon and Protestant countries also rank high in the index.
