Indian equities start the day flat, with IT and oil & gas stocks down. The S&P BSE Sensex rises 100 points, or 0.1%, to 85,008, while the NSE Nifty 50 edges higher 40 points, or 0.1%, to 25,998. Global markets, however, logged solid gains, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average rising 0.44%, the S&P 500 advancing 1.55%, and the Nasdaq Composite surging 2.69%.
