The Indian government has agreed to remove import duty on high-end motorcycles with engine capacities exceeding 800cc, as part of an interim trade pact with the US. This will benefit fully-built imported Harley-Davidson motorcycles, but is unlikely to impact Harley's association with India's largest two-wheeler maker Hero MotoCorp, which produces Harley's 440cc midsize motorcycle platform. The removal of tariffs will make high-end motorcycles cheaper in India.
