India to sell INR150B of new government security 2030 in auction July 18

The Government of India (GoI) has announced plans to sell a total of INR150 billion worth of new government securities in an auction scheduled for July 18, 2025. The securities include two dated instruments: "New GS 2032" and "7.09% GS 2074." The auction will be conducted using the multiple price method, with both competitive and non-competitive bids to be submitted electronically through the Reserve Bank of India's Core Banking Solution (e-Kuber system).

The "New GS 2032" security is being re-issued with a notified amount of INR11,000 crore, while the "7.09% GS 2074" security is being sold for a notified amount of INR14,000 crore. The total value of the securities to be sold is INR25,000 crore, with GoI retaining the option to subscribe for an additional INR2,000 crore against each security.

Investors are advised to submit their bids electronically by July 11, 2025, the deadline for the auction. The auction will take place on July 18, 2025, with the GoI having the flexibility to retain additional subscriptions up to INR2,000 crore against each security.

This auction is part of the GoI's ongoing efforts to manage its debt and ensure financial stability. The sale of these securities will help the government raise funds to finance its various initiatives and projects.
