India's Coal Import Drops 16.4% in July Amid Sluggish Demand and High Stock Levels

India's coal import declined 16.4% to 21.08 million tonnes in July due to weak demand during monsoon and high stock availability. Non-coking coal import dropped to 11.54 MT from 16.52 MT, while coking coal import rose to 5.85 MT from 4.81 MT. The country's import during April-July period also declined to 97.49 million tonnes from 100.48 million tonnes.
