The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued alerts for dense fog, cold wave conditions, and snowfall across multiple states, including Delhi, Punjab, and Uttarakhand. Dense fog has disrupted flights and daily life, while cold wave conditions are expected to intensify in Telangana, north interior Karnataka, and west Madhya Pradesh. Light rainfall or snowfall is forecast for Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Muzaffarabad between December 18 and 22. Minimum temperatures are expected to remain unchanged in northwest India during the next three days.
