A wreath-laying ceremony was held in Hyderabad on Saturday to commemorate Kargil Vijay Diwas, honouring Indian soldiers who died in the Kargil War. The event, organized by the Telangana and Andhra Sub Area (TASA), took place at Veerula Sainik Smarak, Secunderabad, with full military honours.
Governor Jishnu Dev Varma led the ceremony by laying a wreath in the presence of representatives from the Army, Navy, and Air Force. Later in the day, a commemorative event was held at Raj Bhavan, where the Governor presided as the chief guest. The event was jointly organized by Raj Bhavan and the TASA Command and included tributes to the courage and resilience of the Indian Armed Forces.
In his address, the Governor reflected on the heroism of soldiers like Captain Vikram Batra and the 526 personnel who made the supreme sacrifice during the Kargil War. The ceremony was a poignant reminder of the sacrifices made by the Indian Armed Forces in protecting the nation's sovereignty and territorial integrity.
