Hyatt Centric hotel will anchor a new mixed-use complex in Osaka's Namba district, set to open in 2031. This marks the debut of the Hyatt Hotels' urban brand in the Osaka region. The complex will feature a mix of retail, dining, and entertainment options.

Hyatt Hotels Corporation (NYSE: H) has announced plans to open the first Hyatt Centric hotel in Osaka, marking the brand's debut in the Osaka region. The hotel, slated to open in 2031, will be part of a major redevelopment project led by Kanden Realty & Development Co., Ltd., Nankai Electric Railway Co., Ltd., and Osaka Metro Co., Ltd. The new mixed-use complex will feature a range of retail, dining, and entertainment options and will connect directly to Namba Station, one of Osaka's most vibrant and well-connected areas [1].

Hyatt Centric Namba Osaka will offer 267 guestrooms and a 15th-floor lobby with sweeping views of the city. The hotel will be a modern full-service hotel with amenities such as a full-service restaurant, vibrant lounge, meeting and event spaces, a fitness center, and a rooftop bar on the 28th floor [1]. The Hyatt Centric brand is known for its focus on local discovery and adventure, making it an ideal fit for the dynamic culture of Osaka's Namba district [2].

The redevelopment project aims to enhance the appeal and value of the Namba area, which is already a top international tourism destination. Osaka is Japan's second-largest city and is currently attracting global acclaim as the host of Expo 2025 Osaka-Kansai [1]. The project will feature a 28-story mixed-use complex that will connect directly to Namba Station, providing easy access to the city's attractions and transportation system.

Emi Fukumoto, president of Kanden Realty & Development, expressed confidence in the partnership, stating, "We are confident that Hyatt Centric is the ideal brand for this project. With its focus on local discovery, Hyatt Centric Namba Osaka will place guests in the heart of Osaka, seamlessly introducing them to Osaka's rich culture and the Namba district's exciting combination of tradition and innovation" [2]. Masahiko Sakamura, vice president of Japan and Micronesia for Hyatt, added, "Hyatt Centric is the perfect fit for Namba, one of Osaka's most vibrant and internationally recognized entertainment districts" [2].

This development aligns with Hyatt Hotels Corporation's strategy to expand its presence in key markets and capitalize on the growing demand for urban, full-service hotels. The company's portfolio includes over 1,450 hotels and all-inclusive properties in 80 countries across six continents [2].
