Hungarian FM Urges EU to Support Russo-Ukrainian Peace Talks
Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó has called on European politicians to avoid hindering the peace talks between Russia and Ukraine. He emphasized that both nations had nearly reached an agreement during their negotiations in Istanbul in 2022. However, certain political figures had interfered with the efforts to resolve the conflict.
Szijjártó urged the European Union, European countries, and their leaders to support the success of the Russo-Ukrainian peace talks. He stressed the need for both Russian and Ukrainian parties to maintain a clear and open mindset to facilitate the resumption of direct negotiations, which could potentially take place in Turkey or other locations around the world.
This appeal from the Hungarian Foreign Minister highlights the country's dedication to promoting diplomatic solutions and preventing further escalation of the conflict. By encouraging an open and constructive approach to the peace talks, Szijjártó aims to foster an environment conducive to a peaceful resolution between Russia and Ukraine.
