Humana Inc. (NYSE: HUM) will host its second annual Humana Community Day on September 4, expanding volunteer efforts across five U.S. cities. This year, the company aims to engage tens of thousands of employees through a variety of service projects, including meal packaging, supporting military families, and urban beautification initiatives.

The event, part of Humana’s Community Impact programming, seeks to foster a sense of belonging among employees while delivering meaningful support in the communities where they live and work. Last year, 6,000 Humana employees volunteered in Louisville, contributing over 10,000 hours to local projects [1].

This year, volunteers will participate in activities across Ft. Lauderdale, San Antonio, Tampa, and the Arlington/Washington, D.C. area, in addition to Louisville. Some of the planned projects include:

- Louisville, KY: Volunteers will assemble nutrition and care packages at Louisville Slugger Field for distribution to non-profit organizations throughout Louisville in partnership with Metro United Way and PackHope. They will also collaborate with local artist Jaylin Monet Stewart to paint a mural on Humana’s Brook Street Garage and complete beautification projects in Waterfront Park [1].

- Ft. Lauderdale, FL: Employees will sort and package food items at Conviva Broward County facilities, supporting over a million Florida residents through various services [1].

- San Antonio, TX: Volunteers will sort and package food items at the San Antonio Food Bank campus, which serves up to 100,000 individuals a week. A portion of the food packages will support military families [1].

- Tampa, FL: Employees will participate in similar food packaging activities, contributing to local food banks and community centers [1].

- Arlington/Washington, D.C.: Volunteers will prepare meals and chop produce at the D.C. Central Kitchen headquarters, supporting schools and other organizations throughout the D.C. area [1].

Humana’s commitment to community service extends beyond the annual event. The company and its foundation contribute approximately $51 million per year in volunteer hours, employee donations, and grants to community-based organizations [1].

This expanded day of service is made possible through the generosity and collaboration of numerous local and national community partners. The event reflects Humana’s values in action, promoting a healthy and thriving environment for employees and community members alike.
