Ghannam brings over 20 years of experience in the asset management industry. Prior to joining HSBC AM, he served as the Chief Investment Officer at 8F Asset Management, an impact-focused private equity fund manager. Before that, he held various leadership roles in alternatives and private markets at global firms including Deutsche Bank and Argan Capital.
Karim Ghannam will be responsible for the strategic development and management of HSBC AM’s real assets proposition, which comprises listed, direct, and indirect real asset investment strategies. He joins HSBC AM on August 8, 2025, and will report to Joanna Munro, the Chief Executive Officer of alternatives at HSBC AM.
Joanna Munro expressed her delight in welcoming Ghannam to the team, stating, "Alternative investments are increasingly opening up to more types of investors requiring innovative products and specialist support. Karim brings valuable industry insight as we continue to enhance our real assets platform and deliver comprehensive investment solutions to our clients."
HSBC AM's move to appoint Ghannam reflects its commitment to strengthening its real assets and alternatives offerings, particularly in Singapore, a key international wealth hub [2].
