HSBC Names Jack Yang as Finance Chief of Asia and Middle East

HSBC has appointed Jack Yang as its chief financial officer for Asia and the Middle East. Yang has been with HSBC since 2009 and previously served as regional treasurer and at the bank's international wealth and premier banking unit. He succeeds Ming Lau, who departed for a role at Manulife Financial Corp. The appointment is subject to regulatory approval and will be effective April 13. Yang's appointment comes as part of HSBC's efforts to flatten its hierarchy and reduce costs under CEO Georges Elhedery.
