"Hong Kong Pioneers Gold Tokenization, AI-Blockchain Fusion for Digital Economy Boost"

Hong Kong, a global financial hub, is exploring innovative ways to integrate digital technologies into its financial landscape. The city is considering the tokenization of gold and the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) with blockchain technology to drive growth in the digital economy.
The Consensus Conference, the world's largest cryptocurrency and Web3.0 event, was held in Hong Kong from the 18th to the 20th. This was the first time in five years that the event was held outside the United States. During the conference, Hong Kong's Financial Services and Treasury Bureau Director, Xu Zhengyu, revealed that the city is exploring gold tokenization and advancing digital finance to boost participation in the real economy.
At the conference, Xu Zhengyu highlighted Hong Kong's growing role in the virtual asset market and shared exciting developments shaping the future of finance. He revealed that Hong Kong is exploring gold tokenization, which combines physical gold with blockchain technology to offer investors more flexibility and security. This innovation aims to revolutionize the financial market by providing a more efficient and secure way to trade and store gold.
In addition to gold tokenization, Hong Kong is also pushing for digital finance to integrate more with the real economy. This includes supporting cross-border payments, which can help facilitate international trade and investment. Another key trend is the fusion of AI with blockchain and Web3 technologies, which can strengthen Hong Kong's digital infrastructure for the future.
Michael Lau, chairman of Consensus Hong Kong, explained in an interview that the frequent capital flows in Asia and the proximity of Hong Kong to many major Asian markets made Hong Kong the perfect choice for this year's conference. He emphasized that Hong Kong's clear regulatory framework and talented workforce offer significant potential for growth in digital assets and Web3.0.
The three-day event drew 8,000 global participants from the cryptocurrency, blockchain, and Web3.0 sectors. These participants came together to explore the future of the virtual asset industry and discuss the latest trends and innovations in digital finance.
