In a significant move to enhance liquidity and settlement capabilities in Hong Kong's virtual asset market, Eddid Financial has partnered with EXIO Limited. The collaboration will see Eddid Financial provide liquidity management and settlement support for digital assets traded on EXIO's platform, including Bitcoin, Ethereum, and stablecoins. This partnership aims to promote the compliant development of the virtual asset market and establish Hong Kong as a regulated hub for digital assets.
Eddid Financial, a leading fintech-driven financial services group, will leverage its extensive experience in traditional financial markets and its active deployment in the virtual asset sector to offer a comprehensive liquidity management solution. EXIO Limited, a licensed virtual asset trading platform, will utilize its technological strengths to enhance trading efficiency and service quality. The partnership aligns with the regulatory frameworks in Hong Kong and Dubai, promoting the popularization of virtual asset trading and further advancing Hong Kong's development in the global virtual asset market.
This collaboration comes at a critical time as the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) gazettes the Stablecoins Ordinance on 6 December 2024, set to come into effect on 1 August 2025. The ordinance details the licensing and regulatory regime for certain fiat-referenced stablecoins, aiming to manage potential monetary and financial stability risks associated with their increasing prevalence. The partnership between Eddid Financial and EXIO Limited underscores the industry's commitment to regulatory compliance and the development of a robust virtual asset ecosystem.
Eddid Financial's subsidiary, Eddid Securities and Futures, is among the first licensed brokers in Hong Kong authorized to offer virtual asset trading services. The company is dedicated to providing secure and convenient trading services for Bitcoin, Ethereum spot trading, and related products. Meanwhile, EXIO Limited focuses on bridging traditional finance with the Web3 ecosystem, offering professional trading, payment, and diversified financial services to institutional and high-net-worth clients.
Dr. Ricky Yeung, the Head of the Virtual Assets Department at Eddid Financial, stated, "We are delighted to partner with EXIO Limited, combining our shared strengths in traditional financial markets, fintech innovations, and forward-thinking approaches to virtual assets, to jointly promote the compliant development of the virtual asset market."
Chen Wu, Co-Founder & CEO of EXIO Limited, added, "EXIO Limited continues to focus on bridging Web2 and Web3 ecosystems to provide customers with compliant virtual asset trading and financial services. This collaboration with Eddid Financial will bring us stable liquidity support and professional industry experience. We look forward to working together to create a greater value for Hong Kong's virtual asset market."
