HKEX - market capitalisation was HK$42.7 trillion at the end of June 2025

The Nasdaq Baltic Exchanges have reported a significant surge in market capitalization, with a more than doubling of total market capitalization in the first half of 2025. This growth was primarily driven by the bond market, which reached a value of over €33 billion, with €21 billion added to the newly launched Nasdaq Baltic First North foreign securities trading list [1].

The combined capitalization of stocks and bonds increased from €22 billion to €45 billion, reflecting a 45% increase in turnover compared to the same period last year. Stock trading turnover amounted to €324 million, while bond turnover reached €68 million [1].

The OMX Baltic Benchmark Index, which includes the largest and most liquid Baltic companies, grew by 16% in the first half of 2025. The Nasdaq Vilnius local index rose by 13% over the year [1].

The report also highlights the increasing investor confidence in the Baltic capital market, with approximately 300,000 investors now active in the region. This growth is attributed to consistent efforts in market infrastructure, transparency, and investor education [1].

In a separate development, Hong Kong is leading the global initial public offerings (IPO) market in 2025. According to a PwC report, the city is expected to deliver 90 to 100 IPOs with fundraising projected to reach HK$200 billion to HK$250 billion. This rebound positions Hong Kong as the global leader in IPOs [2].

As of the end of June 2025, the Hong Kong Stock Exchange (HKEX) market capitalization stood at HK$42.7 trillion [2].
