Heroic Shopkeeper Ahmed al Ahmed Stops Bondi Beach Gunman in Antisemitic Attack

Syrian-born Ahmed al Ahmed, a 43-year-old shop owner, intervened in a terrorist attack at Bondi Beach, wrestling a rifle from one of the gunman's hands and forcing him to retreat. Authorities declared the attack a terrorist incident, killing at least 15 people and injuring dozens. Ahmed remains hospitalized with gunshot wounds to his arm and hand, with many crediting his actions with preventing further loss of life.
