HDFC Bank has appointed three law firms to review former chairman Atanu Chakraborty's abrupt resignation, citing a need for an objective and fact-based assessment of the reasons behind his departure. The law firms will examine board meeting records, whistle-blower letters, and interview board members and senior management to determine if there were any concerns about unethical practices or governance issues during Chakraborty's tenure. The bank has said it will review decisions made in recent years and address any issues that arise.
