Guo Mingzhi: iPhone 16 orders are not expected to change much

Despite occasional rumors of increased iPhone 16 orders after the Apple (AAPL.O) Worldwide Supply Chain Conference, recent earnings conference calls from two major Apple suppliers (TSMC and LITEK) suggest that iPhone 16 orders may not have increased. TSMC said we didn't see a sudden increase in sales, while LITEK said that orders for high-end models this year were similar to last year. My understanding is that some suppliers saw an increase in iPhone 16 orders in the second half of 2024, but from the perspective of EMS/assembly, the number of iPhone 16 orders has not changed much (about 87 million), still slightly lower than the iPhone 15 orders in the second half of last year (about 91 million). As for the increase in iPhone 16 orders for some suppliers, it may be related to specific reasons within certain industries or parts.
