A young family, including a 2-year-old toddler, narrowly escaped death after six bullets hit their home in Sydney's north-west. The shooting occurred at 3:10 am on Tuesday, with police establishing a crime scene on Janamba Avenue in Kellyville. The attackers may have used a car fire nearby as a getaway vehicle, which is being treated as suspicious. This marks the third Sydney shooting in a fortnight targeting a residential home.

In the early hours of Tuesday morning, a young family in Sydney's north-west narrowly escaped death after six bullets hit their home in Kellyville. The incident occurred at 3:10 am, with police quickly establishing a crime scene on Janamba Avenue. The family, consisting of a two-year-old toddler, a man, and a woman, both in their 30s, were inside the home at the time of the shooting and fortunately, none were injured.

The shooting, which is being investigated by local authorities, is the third such incident in Sydney's residential areas within the past fortnight. Just over two weeks ago, a home on Nangar Crescent in neighboring North Kellyville was targeted in a similar shooting [2].

Soon after the shooting, a car was found alight nearby on Gorman Avenue in Kellyville. The fire, which destroyed the vehicle, is being treated as suspicious by police. Authorities are probing whether the car was used as a getaway vehicle for the attackers. CCTV footage from a nearby home shows a firetruck racing to the car fire on Gorman Avenue [2].

Police are urging anyone with information or CCTV footage of the incident to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
