The BJP Yuva Morcha, the youth wing of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), has accused the Gulbarga University authorities of violating evaluation standards, irregularities, and corruption. The organization has urged Higher Education Minister M.C. Sudhakar to address these issues promptly.
District vice-president of the BJP Yuva Morcha, Shiva Ashtagi, addressed presspersons in Kalaburagi on Monday, highlighting several concerns. He accused the university authorities of violating prescribed evaluation standards and raised complaints about the careless evaluation of exam papers. Ashtagi cited instances where students received very low marks initially but were awarded significantly higher marks after applying for revaluation. He also noted that some evaluators were awarding marks without thoroughly assessing the answer sheets.
Additionally, Ashtagi criticized the university for delaying the evaluation process for eight months and not uploading marks and other data onto the Unified University and College Management System (UUCMS) portal within the stipulated time. He expressed displeasure over the university's reliance on contract and outsourced employees for decades and urged the State government to appoint a permanent Vice-Chancellor and recruit permanent faculties for the various departments in the university immediately.
The BJP Yuva Morcha's accusations come amidst growing concerns about the quality of education and the efficiency of higher education institutions in India. Addressing these issues promptly could help restore confidence in the education system and ensure fair evaluation processes.
