Graphjet Technology, a Malaysian graphene and graphite producer, received a visit from a South Korean conglomerate. The visit aims to explore the potential supply of Graphjet's products to the Korean conglomerate, focusing on graphite material and green materials, clean energy integration, and next-generation battery development. The visit marks an important step for Graphjet to supply to the Asian and North American market.

Graphjet Technology (GTI), a Malaysian producer of graphene and graphite, recently hosted a visit from management executives of a major South Korean conglomerate specializing in steel and battery materials. The visit, which took place on July 02, 2025, aimed to explore potential supply opportunities for GTI's products, particularly in graphite materials and green materials, clean energy integration, and next-generation battery development [1].

The visiting Korean group, established in 1968, reported impressive 2024 financial results with revenues of USD 52.6 billion and net profits of USD 683.2 million [1]. During the visit, discussions focused on the potential supply of GTI’s products to the Korean conglomerate, highlighting the strategic importance of this partnership for GTI's expansion into the Asian and North American markets.

GTI’s Chief Executive Officer, Chris Lai, emphasized the significance of the visit, stating, "We are pleased to welcome the management executives to our facility. This visit marks an important contact for the Company to the Korean market, where some of the largest battery makers and AI chip manufacturers, such as Samsung, reside. This also opens a gateway for our Company to supply to the Asian and North American market" [1].

Graphjet Technology, founded in 2019, utilizes a patented technology to recycle palm kernel shells into single-layer graphene and artificial graphite, setting a new shift in the graphite and graphene supply chain [1]. The company's sustainable production methods, which utilize palm kernel shells, a waste agricultural product common in Malaysia, position GTI as a leader in green materials and clean energy integration.

The visit underscores GTI's commitment to sustainable practices and its strategic focus on expanding its market reach, particularly in the high-growth sectors of battery materials and clean energy technologies. As GTI continues to develop its technology and commercialize its products, this partnership with a leading South Korean conglomerate could significantly impact its future growth and market penetration.
