Radienz Living and Graphic Packaging International have introduced the first curbside-recyclable, child-resistant paperboard packaging for laundry pods called CleanClose with ChildBlock. The packaging is prequalified as 'Widely Recyclable' and aligns with stringent safety certifications. It offers advantages in supply chain efficiency and meets e-commerce and retail durability standards. The collaboration underscores the companies' focus on safety, sustainability, and innovative design.
Radienz Living, a leading private label and contract manufacturer of home and personal care products, in collaboration with Graphic Packaging International, has introduced a groundbreaking innovation in laundry pod packaging. The new CleanClose with ChildBlock paperboard packaging is the first certified child-resistant, curbside-recyclable option in the industry. This development represents a significant milestone in sustainability and safety, redefining standards in laundry care packaging.
The new packaging, designed to protect children and meet consumer demand for recyclable options, is prequalified as 'Widely Recyclable' by How2Recycle. It aligns with stringent safety certifications, such as U.S. 16 CFR 1700.20, ensuring it is both safe and environmentally friendly. The CleanClose with ChildBlock packaging offers several advantages, including improved supply chain efficiency and meeting e-commerce and retail durability standards.
From a supply chain perspective, the packaging delivers real-world advantages. It is delivered flat for efficient warehousing and shipping, at least 10% more space-efficient than traditional plastic pouches, and top-load tested to 400 lbs. for self-palletization. Additionally, it is SIOC (Ships in Own Container)-ready and club-store optimized, meeting durability standards for e-commerce and large-format retail.
The collaboration between Radienz Living and Graphic Packaging underscores their commitment to safety, sustainability, and innovative design. This partnership has resulted in a packaging solution that addresses common concerns around degradation in soft or poorly sealed packaging, while also reducing plastic use and enhancing product efficacy.
The highly customizable CleanClose pack holds up to 160 laundry detergent pods, improving warehouse and transport efficiency. It is made from paperboard with 50% recycled fiber content, making it curbside recyclable and contributing to a more sustainable future.
This innovation marks a significant step forward for both companies, reaffirming their positions as industry leaders in sustainable solutions and child safety. The development of the CleanClose with ChildBlock packaging demonstrates their ability to align the right partners and solve complex challenges for their customers.
