Google has reportedly acquired cybersecurity startup Wiz for a staggering $3 billion.

Alphabet, Google's parent company, is planning to acquire cybersecurity startup Wiz for approximately $30 billion, which would be the largest acquisition in Google's history, and negotiations are in advanced stages and expected to be completed soon.
Google's cloud computing business has grown rapidly but still lags behind rivals. The enhanced security features offered by Wiz can help attract more customers, especially amid the surge in demand for computational power from generative AI companies.
The deal will be a litmus test for the Trump administration's antitrust stance and a barometer for other tech mergers and acquisitions. Google is already facing two antitrust lawsuits.
Wiz, founded in 2020, has seen its valuation soar and is considered one of the fastest-growing startups. It was valued at $16 billion at the end of last year and had planned an IPO but turned to a merger amid market turmoil.
Alphabet tried to buy Wiz for $23 billion last year but failed due to regulatory scrutiny and Wiz's independence.
